Hairball

-- Thursday in Grand Forks: The Minneapolis-based 1980s tribute band Hairball is returning to Grand Forks on Thursday to play a 9 p.m. show in Celebrity Ballroom, located in the same building as Sensations and Campus Liquors. It's a nonsmoking show. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets: $10.

UND Marching Band

-- Friday at Sacred Heart Homecoming: The UND Pride of the North Marching Band will be featured Friday night at East Grand Forks Sacred Heart High School's Homecoming football game against Grygla/Goodrich, Minn. The game starts at 7 p.m. at the East Grand Forks Senior High School football field. The Pride will play during the first half of the game and perform at halftime. The award-winning UND band was founded 12 years ago by director Robert Brooks and has grown from 30 to 120 members, mostly nonmajors from across UND's campus. Homecoming festivities: Coronation of Sacred Heart's Homecoming queen will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, followed by the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, in the school gym. Queen candidates: Alyssa Huot, Shayla O'Leary and Christine Zavoral. Junior attendants are Tracy Roach and Katie Sagaser. Escorts will be Nick Anderson, Hayden Haas, Justin Hoeger, Austin LeTexier, Christian Pagnac-Jundt and Matt Thompson. The 2008 Homecoming Queen, Rachel Scheving, will be present.

Blues music

-- Friday in Grand Forks: Budweiser Blues Series presents The Kinsey Report at 7:30 p.m., Friday in Empire Arts Center, Grand Forks. The Kinsey brothers, Gary, Ind., developed their sound working together on stage and in the studio. Their father and musical mentor, the late Mississippi-born Lester "Big Daddy" Kinsey, a bluesman known for his Delta slide guitar and harmonica playing, introduced his sons to gospel and blues early on, a news release said. They tour nationally and have performed with Aerosmith, Yes and Jethro Tull. Advance tickets: $18, available at UND's Chester Fritz box office, (701) 777-4090.
