- Exhibit at Amazing Grains: Adam Kemp is the artist for July at Amazing Grains in downtown Grand Forks. His show will run July 7 to Aug. 4. About the artist: Born in 1962, Kemp arrived in Grand Forks in 1997. "I am very proud to display my work in a place that adds so much to the quality of life in Grand Forks," Kemp said, and added: "I am willing to barter!"

Dance classes

- NDCA grant awards: Laura Dvorak-Berry and Emily Burkland of the North Dakota Ballet Company in Grand Forks have been awarded grants from North Dakota Council of the Arts to attend a workshop for dance teachers in New York City.

The 10th annual Pulse Dance Workshop Teachers Convention is an educational training ground for teachers around the world, with world-class teachers teaching teachers the latest innovations in dance, a news release said.

Dvorak-Berry, executive director and artistic director of North Dakota Ballet Company, and Emily Burkland, its academy director, will attend the four-day workshop with more than 50 classes in dance and running dance studio businesses.

The two will attend various dance classes at Steps on Broadway, Martha Graham Studio, Luigi Jazz Dance Center and will visit the New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theater.

Casino shows

- Two more shows: Spirit Lake Casino at St. Michael, N.D., has added to more shows to its upcoming schedule. Kenny Rogers: Pop and country legend Kenny Rogers will appear at the casino at 8 p.m. Nov. 19. Tickets, $40 and $50, will go on sale Oct. 7. The Lettermen Christmas Show: This show will play at 2 and 6 p.m. Dec. 5. Tickets, $20 and $25, will go on sale Oct. 21. Also scheduled: Aaron Tippin will appear at 7 p.m. Sept. 11. Tickets will be $25 and $30 and go on sale July 30. Tickets for Lorrie Morgan and Pam Tillis, who will be at Spirit Lake at 7 p.m. Oct. 23, will be $30 and $35 and go on sale Sept. 9. Moondance Jam TV

- In Walker, Minn.: For the first time in its 19-year history, the Moondance Jam rock festival, July 15-17 at Walker, Minn., will be broadcast on television. DIRECTV will air this year's festival exclusively on The 101 Network. The production company Blaze TV will film during the festival and will then produce 10 one-hour shows featuring artists Sammy Hagar, REO Speedwagon, Buckcherry, Jonny Lang, Hoobastank, Collective Soul, Black Stone Cherry and Pat Travers. Additional artists may be added from the three-day, 15-band main stage roster. The programs will air as part of the DIRECTV Concert Series and begin airing on The 101 Network late this summer, a news release said.
