Roseau, Minn., native Kari Nelson will appear on stage during Sunday's "Celebrity Apprentice" finale.
Nelson will play fiddle and sing back-up vocals with John Rich, who is a finalist in the show hosted by Donald Trump. The show begins at 8 p.m. on NBC-TV (GF cable Channel 11).
Rich is playing for the $250,000 top prize for his charity, St. June Children's Hospital.
Nelson, who lives in Nashville, Tenn., started playing violin at age 7 and received training in classical music at the Manitoba Music Conservatory, according to her website.
She grew up playing music with her sisters at local events, including county and state fairs in North Dakota and Minnesota.

After switching to the fiddle, she performed with the Nite Riders, based in Roseau. She moved to Nashville in 2006 and has performed with Gretchen Wilson and Joanna Smith. She also has opened for a variety of artists, including Jake Owen, Pat Green, Wynonna Judd and Billy Dean.
When she's in Nashville, she usually can be found playing gigs with Jake Maurer at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge.
