Rock and Worship Roadshow coming to Grand Forks, Ralph

Promoters of the Rock and Worship Roadshow say it's drawn more than 350,000 people to concert venues across the country since its 2009 launch. Feb. 17, it will come to Grand Forks for a 7 p.m. show at Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Produced by Compassion International, the show will feature American Music Award winning band MercyMe, the critically acclaimed band Jars of Clay, Thousand Foot Krutch, Matt Maher and The Afters.

The 25-city tour will entertain audiences in major cities such as Chicago, Colorado Springs and Phoenix beginning Jan. 28 and running through March 13. The tour's only stop in North Dakota is in Grand Forks and, according to its website, it hasn't scheduled any shows in Minnesota. It will follow up its Feb. 17 show in Grand Forks with a Feb. 18 stop in Rapid City, S.D.

- Matt Maher: Worship leader, songwriter, singer and recording artist, Maher has taken his calling as a "musical missionary" to create a substantial impact on a national and global stage. As an award-winning songwriter, Maher gained notice as the writer of the internationally known modern-worship song, "Your Grace Is Enough."

Maher garnered Album of the Year and Song of the Year at this year's Covenant Awards (GMA Canada). He had six award nominations at the 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards including nods in the prestigious Song of the Year category and Worship Song of the Year for "I Will Rise," a song recorded by Chris Tomlin. The Afters' sophomore release "Never Going Back To OK" was used onscreen with "Grey's Anatomy" (ABC), "Dr. Phil," "Army Wives" (Lifetime) and "Rachael Ray."
