The Red River High School drama department presents "12 Angry Jurors," a modern-day classic of dramatic theater, 7:30 p.m.Oct. 14-16 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 17.

"12 Angry Jurors" is a re-telling of the story dramatized in "Twelve Angry Men," a 1957 movie starring Henry Fonda and Lee J. Cobb and directed by Sidney Lumet. In the original, a young man has just stood trial for fatally stabbing his father.

It looks like an open-and-shut case until one of the jurors begins opening the eyes of the other jurors as they re-examine the evidence.

Tempers get short, arguments grow heated and intense scenes are created as the jury deliberates toward a verdict, a Red River drama department news release said.

The cast includes students Billy Beaton, Walter Criswell, Connor Joseph, Haley Larson, Jen Regimbal, Charlie Rerick, Erika Rosenkranz, Brittany Scheer, Ian Sherwood, Jenna Spicer, Tara Spies, Sasha Yearwood and Courtney Young.

'Pageant'

The Red River High School drama department has also cast its holiday production of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," which will be presented at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 to 11 and 2 p.m. Dec. 12.

"Pageant," the story of the Herdmans, the worst kids in the history of the world, who lie, steal, smoke cigars, swear, and hit little kids on the head, has become one of Red River's favorite family traditions, a news release from its drama department said. The story takes a turn when the Herdmans invade church one Sunday and take over the annual Christmas pageant, much to the chagrin of the much-better-behaved Bradley family.

The Herdmans will be played by Billy Heigaard-McGurran, Kelly Knutson, Luke Opp, Brittany Scheer, Brent Shrum and Jenna Spicer. The Bradley family will be played by Ramsey Jones, Erin Lesch, Charlie Rerick and Cole Sherwood.
