Soprano Regina Zona and pianist Susan Tang will present a voice recital of Romantic and American masters at 8 tonight in Campbell Recital Hall on the UND campus.
Zona has performed with some of America's finest opera companies and conductors, singing roles in the Strauss and Puccini repertoire, a news release said. She is assistant professor of music at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where she is the director of opera and teacher of voice.
Past reviews have described her as "nothing short of sensational" with a repertoire that includes performances of "Norma," Beethoven's 9th Symphony and "Queen of the Night."
Tang recently earned her doctor of musical arts degree from the Manhattan School of Music and is assistant professor of piano at UND. Her performances have been described as "having technique to spare coupled with a lively intelligence," a news release said. She has won the Artist International Management Special Presentation Winners Series and has received the coveted Performer's Certificate, a special award for excellence from the Eastman School of Music.
Tickets to tonight's concert will be $6 for adults, $3 for children and students and $12 for a family of four. Children younger than 6 get in free. Tickets will be available at the door and from the UND Music Department office; call (701) 777-2644.
