"Art and Philosphy" will be the topic on the Sunday radio broadcast of "Why? Philosophical Discussions about Everyday Life," hosted by UND Professor of Philosphy and Religion Jack Russell Weinstein.

The show, from 5 to 6 p.m. on Prairie Public Radio (90.7 and 89.3 Grand Forks), will feature guest Arthur Danto, the Johnsonian professor emeritus philosophy at Columbia University. He has received many fellowships and grants, was president of the American Philosophical Association, has written numerous books and is the art critic for The Nation, according to a news release.

The show will delve into questions such as what is art? What is beauty? How are they related to truth?

"Talking with Arthur Danto will be both a challenge and an honor," Weinstein said. "Few philosophers have had such an interesting and influential career. I can think of no better guide to the world of art, a world that is of immense importance to me and most of our listeners."

If you have a question you want to ask Danto in advance, send it to askwhy@und.edu . You can ask a question live by calling (888) 755-6377. E-mail at askwhy@und.edu and tweet whyradioshow.
