The State Historical Society of North Dakota will soon launch a grain elevator photo contest, and the grand prize-winning photograph to be made into a poster for distribution across the state.
All photographs submitted for the contest will be displayed on a website highlighting elevators and the grain industry; the photos also will be added to the files of the State Historical Society as part of the North Dakota Cultural Resources Survey.
The contest runs May 1 through Dec. 31 and is open to all amateur photographers, but the subject must be a grain elevator in North Dakota, the location of the elevator must be included with the submission and the photo should have been taken in the past three years.
