Muddy Waters Clay Center, 2014 13th Ave. N., will sell garden related ceramics and more, all made by local potters, at its annual Celebrate Spring Pottery Sale from noon to 5 today, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
The front gallery will display items including planters, bird baths and feeders, bird houses, garden ornaments, plant markers, flower vases and berry bowls. The potters already made garden-related items for last year's sale, so this year they've come up with even more imaginative and well-crafted pieces, a news release said.
Another larger gallery room will feature utilitarian pieces such as platters, pitchers, mugs and bowls along with a few sculptural pieces. Bowls with the Muddy Waters Clay Center logo stamped on the bottom also will be for sale. Three garden-themed pots will be included in door prizes this year. The winners will be drawn at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Several potters will demonstrate throwing and hand-building in the Muddy Waters work rooms. Members will provide tours of the center's recently expanded and remodeled facilities. Refreshments and garden-themed cookies will be served.
Muddy Waters Clay Center is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to promote the enjoyment and accessibility of the ceramic arts to the community.
