Bad Boys Arenacross Nationals & Hot Rod Mud Bog will return to the Alerus Center Feb. 5, the third annual such event and one that Alerus officials say has larger crowds each year.

Mud will be flying at the show, which will start at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 5, a news release said, with more than 100 of the best Motocross racers from the area and the nation running on a supercross race track.

The Bad Boys Pro Arenacross Nationals is regarded as the top indoor motocross series, according to a news release from the Alerus. For this event, organizers have lined up daredevil monster truck driver Larry Quick of Des Moines who will slam his 9,000-pound Ghost Ryder into a dirt mound nearly three stories high and attempt a full rotation while he's nearly 50 feet in the air.

Big Ed Beckley of Checkered Flag Productions will organize the show.

"This state is full of hard working people that for one weekend a year come to join over 10,000 of their closest friends at the Alerus Center to have a Rock N' Roar Party," Beckley said in a news release.

The best mud racers will compete in two different classes. Both classes will feature highly modified engines - huge tires - and drivers who want to win the big dollars. They will line up one at a time and attempt to rocket through a four-foot pit of mud.

Tickets will be available at the Alerus Center box office, online at www.ticketmaster.com , or by phone at (800) 745-3000. Upper level tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger, plus applicable fees, when purchased in advance.

VIP seats will be $25 for adults or $15 for children, plus applicable fees. VIP seats include access to a special pre-show pit party that starts one hour before the show and they are the best seats available.
