Local pageant titleholders including Miss North 2011 Beth Dennison will be on stage tonight for "Miss Grand Forks presents Christmas at the Empire," a fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network and the Miss Grand Forks Scholarship Fund.
Dennison will be on her way to compete in the Jan. 15 Miss America pageant in Las Vegas.
The event will begin at 6 tonight at Empire Arts Center, featuring music and dance, hosted by Emily Burkland, Miss Grand Forks 2011. Tickets, sold at the door, will be $10 or $25 per family.
Other featured entertainers will be Becca Lebak, Miss Empire 2011; Nikki Anderson, Miss Eastern Dakota 2011; Grace Sproule, Miss Grand Forks Outstanding Teen; Ellie Unkenholz; Cody Oss; Lindsey Baez; Dana Tisdale; Jim Kent; the Diers; the North Dakota Ballet Company; Becca and Tyrone Grandstrand; and the Grand Forks Red River High School Mannatones. The Treblemakers will carol before the show.
Dennison is scheduled to leave Jan. 5 for Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas for the 90th annual Miss America pageant, which will be broadcast live Jan. 15 on ABC.
