As reported earlier, there's a book deal in the works between Herald columnist Marilyn Hagerty, of Internet fame, and celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain.
"I see her life's work as a history of American dining. What's happened to them? Are they still around after 25 years?" he said in a conference call with reporters, as quoted by Eater.com, a restaurant website.
Recently, Hagerty was back in New York City to meet with Bourdain and film a second segment with TV talk show host Anderson Cooper. A representative from Cooper's show said the show with Hagerty is scheduled for Monday. It will air at 9 a.m. locally on KX4, the CBS affiliate.
Hagerty, 85, began writing the Eatbeat column about restaurants in 1976; she was already a longtime Herald writer at the time. Her review of the Grand Forks Olive Garden became an Internet sensation last month. She was briefly attacked by snarky Web denizens, but many came to her defense, including Bourdain.
"The reviews I read were really refreshing and heartfelt," Bourdain was quoted by Eater.com. "I think she made us all on the coasts look small and bad, and I admire her for that."

Hagerty is in talks with publisher HarperCollins, which features Bourdain's imprint Ecco.
