Lil Scrappy to perform at Big D's in Grand Forks

Hip hop artist Lil Scrappy, a nationally known rapper who has performed with Lil John, 50 Cent and others, is coming to Big D's in Grand Forks on Nov. 4.

Hip hop artist Lil Scrappy, a nationally known rapper who has performed with Lil John, 50 Cent and others, is coming to Big D's in Grand Forks on Nov. 4.

The show, by promoter Who Dun It Entertainment, will feature area performers Who Dun It, M33k, and Unxcepted from Grand Forks, with DJ Smallz (Mr. Southern Smoke) and DJ Petey Lee as special guests, a news release said.

Tickets are $19 in advance, available at Big D's in Grand Forks and Fargo, and $22 at the door.

Lil Scrappy, 27, was born Darryl Kevin Richardson II and was discovered by producer and performer Lil Jon while performing in Atlanta, according to a news release.

Lil Scrappy built a reputation and a following throughout the Southeast through mix tapes and his 2003 song, "Head Bussa," which was used by the 2004 Atlanta Braves.

Lil Scrappy released his debut album "Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live" in 2006 on BME Recordings, Reprise Records, G-Unit Records and G-Unit South (now Cashville Records).

The first single from the album, "Money in the Bank," became Lil Scrappy's second Top 30 single.

His first independent album, "Prince of the South," was released in 2008 through Real Talk Entertainment.

Lil Scrappy also appeared in the motion picture, "Just Another Day," in 2009.
