"Freedom Sings," a multi-media concert celebrating free expression and music in America, is scheduled for 7:30 Friday night at Jamestown College's Reiland Fine Arts Center.
The event is free and open to the public.
The show features classic rock, country, folk, soul and hip-hop. Performers include singer-songwriter Jason White, whose work -- including the controversial song "Red Rag Top" -- has been recorded by Tim McGraw and others, and Joseph Wooten, keyboard performer for the Steve Miller Band for more than 15 years.
The event is sponsored by the North Dakota Newspaper Association's Education Fund, Jamestown College and 1 for All, a campaign to educate Americans on the First Amendment. It is the first time a newspaper association and a college have partnered to host the show which has been touring the country since 2000.
