UND Homecoming week begins today in Grand Forks, with activities including a first-ever "Get Your Green On" community party from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday in the Alerus Center.
"Get Your Green On: A Grand Forks Homecoming Celebration" will be open to the community and all friends of UND, featuring light hors d'oeuvres, giveaways, a cash bar, surprise guests and musical entertainment by the UND Steel Pan Band, UND Varsity Bards and Downtown Horns.
Festivities on Saturday will include the 10 a.m. parade, tailgating starting at 11 a.m. and the Homecoming football game beginning
at 1 p.m. in the Alerus Center. Here are more highlights of UND Homecoming week.
Wednesday

Pep Fest, 7 p.m., UND Wellness Center. Homecoming king and queen coronation, an iPad drawing, a banner competition, Yell Like Hell and two new events: Homecoming Hot Mess (a relay competition) and a Get Your Green On costume contest.
Thursday
UND Homecoming Headquarters, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., J. Lloyd Stone House. Refreshments and more.
Sioux Awards Banquet, Alerus Center ballroom, 5:30 p.m. UND's highest honor for its alumni and friends will be presented to Dr. Robert Nordlie, Diane Odegard, Gary Marsden and Norm Hoffman. Young Alumni Achievement Awards will go to Amanda Bentow and John Kutch. Tickets: $50.
Friday
UND Homecoming Headquarters, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., J. Lloyd Stone House.
UND Walking Tour, 9 to 10 a.m., for all returning alumni and families
