The second annual Holiday Glow Art Sale & Show, now including a charity event, will feature 14 artists during open houses from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 12 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 13.
This progressive art event, free and open to the public, allows participants to move from one open house to the next with venues offering original and affordable art in small, informal and cozy settings. Local artists will be home to welcome guests and talk about their work and each artist will offer a holiday treat for visitors.
This year's Holiday Glow formal includes evening hours on Nov. 12, a Friday, for people wanting a fun night out, and daytime hours on Nov. 13, a Saturday, for people who prefer shopping and finding addresses with the advantage of daylight, event organizer Jackie Uthus said in a news release. However, perhaps the most significant change is the spirit of Holiday Glow, Uthus said.
"Each artist has chosen one of his or her favorite charities to benefit from sales," Ulthus said. "Artists will donate a percentage of their sales during the show to these designated charities. ... This is a way artists can give back, and it is really an easy way. It works."
Venues will offer handcrafted, one of-a-kind items and art pieces timed for holiday giving. For more information and a printable map, go to www.jackiesart.com and click on the Holiday Glow header. Various local area businesses have postcard maps available, too, as do all the artists. Participating artists, their media, chosen charities and addresses are:
