FARGO - If Nelly gets it too hot in the Scheels Arena on March 3, the hip-hop artist will melt the ice. The arena, home of the Fargo Force hockey team, announced the concert Wednesday.
Nelly made his mark with his 2000 hit song "Country Grammar," but broke out with the '02 chart-toppers "Hot in Herre" and "Dilemma," and again in '05 with his song "Grillz." He released his fifth disc in November, which featured the hit "Just a Dream."
Opening the show will be dance duo 3OH3!, which sold out the Venue at the Hub in November. Big Reeno is also on the bill with others to be announced.
This will be the first show since Scheels bought the naming rights to the former Urban Plains Center in October. A November show by country singer Craig Morgan was can-celled. The last concert at the facility was a show in May by rock bands Skillet and Red.
Scheels Arena and Fargo-based promoter Jade Presents also announced an agreement to present three shows this year in the south Fargo arena.
