UND Homecoming activities will begin Monday in Grand Forks, including a first-ever "Get Your Green On" community party from 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 21 at the Alerus Center.
"Get Your Green On: A Grand Forks Homecoming Celebration" will be open to the community and all friends of UND, featuring light hors d'oeuvres, giveaways, a cash bar, surprise guests and musical entertainment by the UND Steel Pan Band, UND Varsity Bards and Downtown Horns.
Festivities on Oct. 22 will include the 10 a.m. parade, tailgating starting at 11 a.m. and the Homecoming football game beginning at 1 p.m. at the Alerus Center. Here are more highlights of UND Homecoming week. For a full list, or to register for an event, go to www.undalumni.org/homecoming2011.
Oct. 19
- Pep Fest, 7 p.m., UND Wellness Center. Homecoming king and queen coronation, an iPad drawing, a banner competition, Yell Like Hell and two new events: Homecoming Hot Mess (a relay competition) and a Get Your Green On costume contest.

Oct. 20
- UND Homecoming Headquarters, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., J. Lloyd Stone House. Stop by for fellowship, games and refreshments. Homecoming 2011 t-shirts will be available. Check updates on the new Gorecki Alumni Center, currently under construction.
- Sioux Awards Banquet, 5:30 p.m., Alerus Center ballroom. UND's highest honor for its alumni and friends will be presented to Dr. Robert Nordlie, Diane Odegard, Gary Marsden and Norm Hoffman. Young Alumni Achievement Awards will go to Amanda Bentow and John Kutch. Tickets: $50.
Oct. 21
- UND Homecoming Headquarters, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., J. Lloyd Stone House. Fellowship, games and refreshments.
- UND Walking Tour, 9 to 10 a.m., for all returning alumni and families. Starts at the J. Lloyd Stone Alumni Center.
- Golden Grads/Class of 1961 Social, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 'l Bistro Restaurant, Canad Inn. Tickets: $20.
