Fireflight's third studio album, "For Those Who Wait," was released in February 2010 and nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock/Rap Gospel Album but lost to Switchfoot.

"For Those Who Wait" was named the No.1 "most anticipated album of 2010," by Jesusfreakhideout.com, and gave Fireflight its fifth career No. 1 radio single on the rock format with lead single "Desperate," followed by the title track's performance as a Top 5 hit at rock and Christian contemporary hit radio.

Fireflight has received six career Dove Award nominations, including Artist of the Year in 2009 and Female Vocalist of the Year for powerhouse lead singer Dawn Michele in 2010. Formed in Eustic, Fla., in 1999, the band was signed by Flicker Records and has toured extensively, performing an average 140 shows a year. In addition to Dawn Michelle, the band is Justin Cox, guitar; Glenn Drennen, guitar; and Wendy Drennen, bass. Long=time drummer Phee Shorb left the band in February to become a Christian speaker and was replaced by Adam McMillion.

On the band's website , lead singer Michelle said "For Those Who Wait" was a more mature album for the group, with songs about how sometimes we don't appreciate the path we're traveling. We think once our troubles pass, then things will be great, and in the meantime we miss out on what's happening between now and our goal, she said.

"God has times of waiting in our lives because he has something for us to learn. Hard things that happen, that throw us off of our plan, become the most important things in our lives because God will take them and use them to shape our character and who we are," she said.

In a May 19 article at al.com, the Fort Wayne, Ind., morning show co-host Ace McKay praised Firefight in a story about the SoulStock festival at Point Mallard Spirit of America Field. The band "has not missed a beat this year" despite losing its long-time drummer, McKay wrote.

"The vocal from Dawn Michele is flawless in range and passion," he said. "She's got the pipes of a Chrissie Hynde or Leigh Nash and will blow the roof off, if Point Mallard had one."
