Fat Cat Productions of Grand Forks has received the 2011 Bronze Omni Award for "Join a winning Team" in the Television Commercial/Public Service Announcement category.
The OMNI Intermedia Awards recognize outstanding production in television, film, video, internet, interactive media and 3-D animation. Entries are judged on criteria for each specific media type such as programming, graphics, functionality, media presentation, quality, creativity and impact.
Fat Cat Productions was hired by a firm in the western part of North Dakota to produce a public service announcement campaign to help recruit and retain rural volunteer public service emergency workers throughout the state of North Dakota. The campaign includes a television and radio spot as well as a web video.
The television commercial features an actual recent automobile accident in which a local high school athlete was the victim. As a result of the fast response of local, trained, volunteer medical services and in spite of sustaining near-death head injuries, he fully recovered.
In a news release, Les Sholes, president of Fat Cat Productions, said he was pleased to receive the award. He is proud of the volunteers who contributed to the project. His company produces television commercials, Public Service Announcements, web videos and independent films.
