The North Dakota Ballet Company Apprentice School will present "Dancing through the Decades" at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday in the Empire Arts Center in Grand Forks.

The concert is a collaboration by dancers from 3-year-olds through adults who will perform pieces from the beginning of dance to modern dance styles, a news release said.

Dance has been integral in our culture since early human civilization through ceremonies, celebrations and entertainment, Laura Dvorak-Berry, executive director of North Dakota Ballet Company, said in a news release.

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to share in this timeless history and educate our students on the traditions of classical dance," she said, "as well as the constant evolution of new styles and dance forms that continue to develop and shape through the artistry of expression."

The concert will feature more than 100 dancers and 350 dances in a production of lights and glitter with music from Frank Sinatra and the Beatles to top hits of today. Doors open 30 minutes before each production and admission is free.
