Country music's George Jones, whose 1980 hit single "He Stopped Loving Her Today" has been called the greatest country song of all time, will perform at 8 p.m. Nov. 12 at Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, Minn.
Jones' East Texas rockabilly roots took him from the honky-tonk circuit to the Grand Ole Opry and beyond. He scored his first Top 5 hit, "Why Baby Why," in 1955 and, in 2008, along with Morgan Freeman, Barbra Streisand and three others, was recognized at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, D.C.
