MOORHEAD - The "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" worksite isn't the only place booming this week in south Moorhead.

Nearby businesses are also feeling the joy.

"Our business has doubled this week," said Amber Klokstad, supervisor at the Starbucks, 906 Holiday Drive, which is near the "Extreme Makeover" site at 903 22nd Ave. S.

The same is true at the Courtyard by Marriott at 1080 28th Ave. S., where the hotel's 126 rooms have been sold out every day this week, said assistant manager Jim Sele.

Klokstad said that in addition to selling a lot of coffee at the store this week, Starbucks has donated coffee to the "Extreme Makeover" workers to keep them going.

She said two of the "Extreme Makeover" celebrities, Paige Hemmis and Ty Pennington, send their driver in every morning to pick up a tall caramel nonfat latte and a tall mocha.

"It's been a lot of fun," Klokstad said. "We'll feel it when they're gone."

Sele said Courtyard by Marriott has been host to the "Extreme Makeover" production crew. He said some members of the crew have been staying there for weeks. He expects them to be at the Marriott through Monday, with most leaving on Tuesday.

"Many of the crew will come in in the evening and unwind in the lobby," Sele said. "You can't ask for a nicer group of people."
