New in GF/EGF:

- "Going the Distance": Drew Barrymore and Justin Long star in this romantic comedy about a long-distance romance that may be worth fighting for. Garrett (Long) is still getting over a recent breakup when he meets Erin (Barrymore), an unflinchingly honest girl with a big talent for bar trivia, and they spend a romantic summer in New York City. As fall approaches and Erin returns to San Francisco, the spark remains. When Erin calls, Garrett drops everything, and his best friends (Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day) think he's taking the relationship too seriously. Erin's sister (Christina Applegate) also wants to make sure her smitten sibling doesn't repeat the mistakes of her past. Director: Nanette Burstein. (1:37) Rated R for sexual content including dialogue, language throughout, some drug use and brief nudity.

- "Machete": Robert Rodriguez brings this hyper-violent adaptation of the "fake" trailer originally featured in the 2007 exploitation throwback "Grindhouse." Machete (Danny Trejo), a former Mexican Federale who doesn't answer to anyone, has a harrowing encounter with a feared drug lord (Steven Seagal). In Texas, the shadowy Benz (Jeff Fahey) offers Machete cash to assassinate unscrupulous Senator McLaughlin (Robert DeNiro). When Machete realizes he's been set up, he turns to fierce taco queen Luz (Michelle Rodriguez), heavily armed holy man Padre (Cheech Marin) and trigger-happy socialite April (Lindsay Lohan) to show Benz he just messed with the wrong Mexican. Before they can get to Benz, Machete's gang has to face blade-wielding ICE agent Sartana (Jessica Alba), who never met an adversary she couldn't flay. (1:45) Rated R for strong bloody violence throughout, language, some sexual content and nudity.
