UND music department to present chamber orchestra, choir concerts

The public is invited to concerts Friday and Saturday at the Chester Fritz Auditorium

The UND music department will present a Chamber Orchestra concert Friday, March 5, and a Concert Choir performance Saturday, March 6, both at the Chester Fritz Auditorium. The free events will also be livestreamed.

In the auditorium, audience members are asked to wear masks and be seated socially distant to comply with the university’s safety protocols.

The UND Chamber Orchestra concert, set for 8 p.m. Friday, will feature works by Telemann, Sibelius, Glazunov and Bach. Performance by the UND Student String Quartet will be highlighted in the program, according to Alejandro Drago, director of the strings program at UND.

The UND Concert Choir, the Enoxa chamber ensemble, the Varsity Bards and the Goliards chamber ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The program, featuring works by Tormis, Esenvalds, Berger, Gibbs and de Lassus, will be conducted by Dean Jilek, director of choirs at UND.
