The UND Vivo Chamber Choir and UND Wind Ensemble Chamber Players will combine to present a livestreamed concert on Wednesday, Nov. 4, with a program that is “about hope and our continued need to make music,” said James Popejoy, UND professor of music and director of bands.
The concert, which begins at 8 p.m., is not open to the public due to public health restrictions related to the pandemic. The public is invited to watch the livestreamed performance on the UND music department website, www.undmusic.org .
Marking the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, the UND Wind Ensemble Chamber Players will open the concert with the composer’s “March in F,” according to James Popejoy, conductor.
The group also will perform “Winter Ricercar,” a contemporary work by Kevin Walczyk based on the English Christmas carol, “Upon the Snow-clad Earth,” by Arthur Sullivan.

The UND Vivo Chamber Choir, under the direction of Melanie Popejoy, will present selections including “Viva la Musica,” “Prayer of the Children,” “Hope Lingers On,” “The Parting Glass” and “Here Comes the Sun.” Melanie Popejoy is associate director of choral activities at UND.
An undergraduate conductor, Isabelle Henley, will lead the group in a performance of “As You Sing,” by Sarah Quartel.
