Steps in Time Historical Dance Society Kick-off
- Today at Lovely Dozen: The Steps in Time Historical Dance Society will hold their first weekly class from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lovely Dozen Dance Studio, 1604 S. Washington St. They will begin with some regency dances (think Jane Austen) and move into Scottish country dances and more. The Language of Love
- Today at Valley City State: Robin Allebach and Dr. Christopher Redfearn will perform a recital titled “The Language of Love” featuring songs and arias centered on the theme of love at 7:30 p.m. in the Froemke Auditorium on the Valley City State University campus. The program will also feature the world premier of “Divisi: A Scene for Soprano and Trombone,” an anonymously commissioned work by composer Christopher Gable, a music theory instructor at UND, and librettist Merie Kirby, who also teaches at UND. Museum of Art Opening Reception

North Country Fiddle and Dance
- Saturday at Eagles Club: North Country Fiddle and Dance will host a North American folk and barn dance from 7:30 to 10 p.m. There’s no need to know how to dance as longway reels, circles and simple squares will all be taught. - Feb. 15 at Alerus: This semi-formal event is Grand Forks’ biggest event celebrating cultural diversity. Enjoy performances by Fubuki Daiko, a Japanese Taiko group, Sol de España, Spanish folk dancers, and the Portuguese Fold Dancers from Algeria, as well as a number of UND performers. The five-course international meal includes Tunisian slata mechouia salad, Indian butter chicken and Scottish banoffee pie.
