MOORHEAD – Bluestem Center for the Arts’ announcement of its summer lineup had toes tapping Tuesday at the Moorhead facility.
Local act Diane Miller & the Silver Daggers played snippets from each of the four bands to play the Imagine Amphitheatre at Bluestem this summer, leading to tapping toes, claps and at least one loud whoop for the lineup, which includes:
• Classic rock act The Beach Boys on June 8. Tickets are $35 for general admission spots on the lawn, $49.50 for general admission on the benches, and $75 for reserved seats.
Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. Friday.
• Denver rock act The Fray on June 21. Tickets are $35 for general admission lawn and bench spots, and $55 for reserved seats. Tickets go on sale March 28.

• The return of Duluth, Minn.,-based newgrass group, Trampled by Turtles and hip-hop collective Doomtree on June 27. Tickets are $25 for general admission lawn and bench spots, and $31.50 for reserved seats.
Tickets go on sale April 4.
• Ten-time Grammy-winning blues and rock singer/guitarist Bonnie Raitt and opener Spider John Koerner on July 6. Tickets are $39.50 for general admission lawn, $49.50 for general admission bench spots and $85 for reserved seating. Tickets go on sale April 11.
The concerts are produced by Fargo events company Jade Presents. The shows are co-sponsored by Dakota Magic and Forum Communications, which publishes this newspaper.

In February, Jade Presents announced a three-year contract with the Fargo Public Schools to produce concerts at Bluestem’s Imagine Amphitheatre.
Jeffrey Schatz, superintendent of Fargo Public Schools, said the 2013 concert series was “a great experience” but that this year’s lineup was “the best yet for this facility.”
“After the long winter we wanted to have a good summer series,” said Jade Nielsen, president of Jade Presents.

Nielsen added that he hoped to have three or four more shows announced by the end of April.
“What we learned last year is that we wanted to provide something for everybody,” he said.
To make the shows more of a family event – and to ease traffic jams – gates will open at 5 p.m. for each concert with music starting at 7 p.m. Food vendors will be on hand before each event.
Schatz also stressed the importance of “creating different experiences for different age groups,” with the full Bluestem lineup, which also includes:
• Shine Music workshop, “Jungle Drums,” on April 3 and 4.
• An FM Ballet Company event on April 5.
• A Silver Strings concert on May 12
• The Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Stroll & Savor on May 31.
