FARGO â A âvery unfortunateâ power bump briefly knocked out power to Fargodome ticketing computers Monday morning and temporarily affected some customers waiting in line to get tickets for the upcoming Katy Perry concert, General Manager Rob Sobolik said Tuesday.
Some tickets for Perryâs upcoming Aug. 23 concert here have been available through pre-sale in recent days, though most were released to the general public beginning at 10 a.m. Monday.
But Sobolik said a motor went bad just before sales started, creating a power surge that affected several breakers and knocked out power to the Fargodomeâs ticketing computers for 10 to 15 minutes.
âItâs just like a lot of things that can happen,â he said. âThe timing of it was extremely unfortunate.â
Sobolik said tickets were available the whole time through www.inforumtix.com and through the 855-MYINFORUM ticket hotline.

But customers who were lined up to buy directly from the Fargodome were temporarily unable to make their purchases.
Everyone waiting in line was able to get tickets after the power surge was identified and corrected, Sobolik said.
âNow whether they got the tickets they wanted or not is probably up for discussion,â he said. âHowever, based on the anticipated volume of sales and the high interest in that show, I think itâs fair to say that question wouldâve been debatable.â
Sobolik said Perryâs concert is expected to sell out, though some tickets are still available.
