GRAND FORKS — Due to spring flooding on the Greenway, Hugo’s Concert Series has announced that its July 9 concert, featuring Travis Tritt with special guest Rodney Atkins, has been moved to the north parking lot at the Columbia Mall, in front of the former Sears location.
“Although we, of course, are disappointed to leave the downtown area for this show, we are excited about the opportunity to pop up a full concert venue in a new location and to have free parking – and a lot of it – available to our concert attendees by using this space at the Columbia Mall,” Sarah Horak, Hugo’s Concert Series promoter, said in a news release.
This isn’t the first time the Hugo’s Concert Series has had a pop-up concert venue in a parking lot. In 2019, the series hosted three concerts in the parking lot where the new Hugo’s Pure Market location now sits in downtown Grand Forks. There have also been concert venues in city streets and intersections, other parking lots and in softball fields.
A map outlining the layout of the July 9 concert will be available on Hugo’s Concert Series social media, website and through e-mails to ticket holders.
The gate for the concert will open at 6 p.m., with Rodney Atkins playing at 7 p.m. and Travis Tritt playing at 9 p.m. Music will end by 11 p.m.
