FARGO — Fargo-based Flag Family Media is partnering with Forum Communications Co. to take over day-to-day operations of its WDAY-AM radio station.
The move was announced in a news release from Flag Family Media on Monday, Nov. 9, the day the agreement went into effect.
The release stated that Flag Family Media would play “an extensive role in WDAY-AM’s day-to-day operations, programming, and sales efforts, and provides an eventual path to ownership.”
The move would not affect the television side of WDAY or any other Forum Communications Co. brand, which includes The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead and InForum.com.

He added that he and his business partner, Scott Hennen, both worked for WDAY before starting The Flag.
“This partnership allows us to focus our attention on our in-depth TV, digital and print news operations while still sustaining a strong local radio presence in the region,” said Bill Marcil Jr., president and CEO of Forum Communications Co. “We know Flag Family Media will honor the legacy of WDAY-AM and are looking forward to seeing how they transform our region’s radio experience.”
