The Empire Arts Center has announced a new arts festival focused on original works.
The Edge New Works Festival, a multi-day performing arts event, will be dedicated to presenting newly created theater, dance, music and more, according to an Empire Arts Center release.
The festival, which is scheduled to take place Sept. 18-20 at various locations in and around the Empire, will feature curated performances by local and regional artists.
The festival will include an adjudication process through which a finalist will be selected and named the Artist in Residency. With the residency, the artist will have the chance to produce a full-length production of their work at the Empire, which includes a financial stipend.
The event will also include master classes, discussion panels, post-show talkbacks and a social.
