Elliott BROOD, the three-piece Canadian alternative-country band, will return to Grand Forks at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Fire Hall Theatre.

And, if their July Concert in the Garden performance at the North Dakota Museum of Art is any indication, their show is sure to get concert-goers on their feet and dancing.

Kathy Coudle-King, executive director of the theatre, said Matthew Wallace, associate director of the museum contacted her after their July performance and asked if the Fire Hall would be interested in hosting the band for a fall show.

"He mentioned that the group is on their fall tour, and they were looking for a small venue to play," she said. "It kind of fell into our lap."

Coudle-King said Wallace was so enthusiastic about the band that it got her enthusiastic about it, too.

The band, which formed in 2002, consists of Mark Sasso, Casey Laforet and Stephen Pitkin. All together the trio plays the guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, bass pedals, keys, percussion and even the kazoo.

"They call it alternative-country; some might call it folk with roots of blues mixed in," Coudle-King said. "Their music is irresistible."

While their July concert at the museum attracted more than 400 people, the Fire Hall Theatre only seats 108, so seating is limited.

"The idea is to keep it small and keep it intimate," Coudle-King said. "You'll be right up close to the musicians."

The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with Brick and Barley serving beer and wine throughout the performance.

Tickets are $20 at the door and online at www.ggfct.com , or $18 in advance by phone at (701) 746-0847.
