Julianne and Derek Hough are bringing their moves to Grand Forks this weekend.
The “Dancing with the Stars” professional dancers will perform their “Move Live on Tour” show at the Alerus Center on Sunday at 8 p.m. Tickets to the show are still available.
Julianne Hough described the tour as a “rock concert for dance,” full with the dance moves audience members would expect with a lot of audience participation
“It’s a very fulfilling show,” she said via phone interview. “We try to do the very best dance performances that we can for the audience and show what we’re capable of. But it’s also relaxed - we talk on stage, we interact with the audience, we bring people up on stage, we go into the audience.”
The brother and sister conceived the show, and are staging it with “Dancing with the Stars” choreographers Tabitha and Napoleon D’umo.

“People leave feeling inspired to do what they love when the leave because that’s one of our messages toward the end of the show,” Hough said. “We want to challenge people to do what they love, what inspires them, what moves them and to go and act on it.”
Hough said she loves going on tour with her brother and said it’s been a great chance for the two siblings to bond.
“We both live in L.A., and both have our own lives and our own careers, so you’re close but to spend this much time together, you get really close. You’re with each other 24/7, and we try to enjoy the moment and take it all in.”
Hough has found success in film, television and music. She’s a two-time professional champion on “Dancing with the Stars,” winning with Apolo Anton Ohno and Helio Castroneves. She’s also starred in the movies “Burlesque” and “Rock of Ages.”
Derek Hough is an Emmy Award-winning choreographer and five-time champion on “Dancing with the Stars,” performing on the show with Brooke Burke, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Grey, Kellie Pickler and Amber Riley.
