Alerus Center to host comedian Jo Koy in April

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday for the April 28 show by comedian Jo Koy, the Alerus Center has announced.

The performance is part of the comedian's Break the Mold Tour.

Koy has had two highly rated comedy specials on Comedy Central, "Don't Make Him Angry" and "Lights Out," according to an Alerus Center news release.

He draws inspiration from his family, specifically his son, to create humor that appeals to everyone.

In 2017, he released his third comedy special, "Jo Koy: Live from Seattle" as a Netflix Original.

The comedian, who tours the nation, can be heard as a weekly guest on the podcast, "The Adam Carolla Show." He hosts his own weekly podcast, "The Koy Pond," on Podcast One.

Koy has appeared on more than 100 episodes of "Chelsea Lately" as roundtable guest.

He's also made guest appearances on VH1, "The Joy Behar Show," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Last Call with Carson Daly" and "Jamie Foxx: Laffapalooza."
