Three out of five stars.

When I wake up in the morning, one of the first things I do is click one of my weather apps and see what the forecast looks like.

If it looks like rain, I'll grab my umbrella. If it's forecast to be particularly chilly, I'll make sure I put on a warm sweater.

But sometimes, the weather changes dramatically, and it's hard to plan for the day. Sunshine, however, attempts to solve this problem.

The app learns about your personal preferences and tailors its weather report to how you feel about particular weather.

Each day when you look at your weather forecast, Sunshine will ask what you think of the weather, describing it as freezing, cold, pleasant, warm or hot. Then every subsequent day, the app will base its forecasts based upon that.

If you think anything colder than 40 is cold, Sunshine will tell you to bundle up. If you think anything above 80 is hot, Sunshine will tell you to dress for the weather.

The app crowd sources weather forecasts to try to have the most accurate weather predictions so a person is never caught in the rain without an umbrella or ill-prepared for the day's weather.

The problem, however, is the app is so new and so few people use it in my area that the crowd sourcing adds little to no value to me. If it starts raining or snowing, Sunshine won't alert me any faster than any other app.

While the app is clever, I find it to be just like any other weather app on the market, and possibly more intrusive with people able to "like" my weather report. The personalized weather report is a nice touch but not enough to make this the one and only app for me.

Sunshine might one day become a must have for everybody, but right now, it adds little value to an already saturated market full of weather apps.
