The American Heart Association is trying to get more black and Latina women into the health care field.
Sixteen women will receive a $2,500 scholarship to support their studies.
The scholarships are part of the organization's Go Red For Women/Go Red Por Tu Corazon campaign to make women aware of the dangers of heart disease.
