The weekend arrives with Harry the Hawk following the UND football team to Fargo. Philip the Fly will stay in Grand Forks and bother the fans watching the UND-NDSU football game on Saturday Sept. 7. They say there will be a gathering outside the Ground Round over in the area around Scheels.

The fun and frivolity of September continues with the annual Potato Bowl celebration.

All eyes will be on the potato next week. The frivolity of Potato Bowl events will include the annual French Fry feed on Thursday, Sept. 12, in University Park. Some people are still grieving because the weather ruined it last year.

The parade a week from Saturday – on Sept. 14 – will go down University Avenue this year. And Paul Dolan will be honored.

Meanwhile, September has its ups and downs. This is the month when Minnie the Mouse is looking for a way to find inside housing. This is the time for flu shots.

Some people think that before they whisked that moose on the loose out of Grand Forks, they should have given it a treat. It could have had a sandwich at the Blue Moose in East Grand Forks.

A. Thirty-five and counting. It’s all part of the annual King of Trails celebration along the 414 miles of the historic Highway 75 in Minnesota. And towns along the way join in the frivolity.
