A national event aimed at fostering community and starting conversations between strangers will visit Grand Forks in September.
A 750-foot table will be placed along North Third Street starting at DeMers Avenue on Sept. 5. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. people are invited for a free meal and to talk about the community.
The release said residents can apply after the event for a $3,000 city-funded grant. The selected projects will align with Gov. Doug Burgum's Main Street Initiative and should focus on healthy communities, efficient infrastructure and the workforce.
