President Jon Wolfgram called the regular meeting of the Thompson Public School Board of Directors to order 6:28 am Tuesday, February 11, 2020. Deb Kolling, Nick West, Brian Willis, Jon Wolfgram were in attendance establishing a quorum. Others present: John Maus, Superintendent; Jason Schwabe, Secondary Principal; Dave Wheeler, Elementary Principal; and LuAnn Kysilka, Business Manager. Member absent: Timothy Myron.
Moved, seconded, to approve agenda. MC
Moved, seconded, to accept minutes of January 14, 2020 regular meeting. MC
Board meeting evaluation was reviewed.
Moved, seconded, to approve payment of Schedule of Bills/PCard Statement in the amount of $424,383.26. MC
General, activity, hot lunch reports presented and discussed.
Superintendent, Secondary and Elementary Principal reports were reviewed. Moved, seconded, to approve WSN contracts for Thompson Public School gymnasium remodel for $15,000 for Scope of Services and Standard Form of Agreement between Owner and Architect with a preliminary total project cost of $5,500,000. MC
Finance Committee met February 5 and discussed construction project timeline, recent hirings and timeline on additional hiring, updated ESP numbers, administration and non-certified salary proposals, insulation bids for the small garage, and renovation projects/small summer projects.
The other committees did not meet.
No correspondence.
Long-range facility plan was discussed.
Discussed the school start time next year. Moved, seconded to approve starting school 10 minutes earlier beginning with the 2020-2021 school year. Start time for school will be 8:25 am. MC
The board discussed ESP charges. Moved, seconded to charge an additional $25 per month for ESP starting with the 2020-2021 school year. Morning only ESP will be $75 for full pay families/$25 for reduced pay; Homework Club, PM only, and AM/PM ESP for full pay families will be $100 for one child, $125 for two children, $150 for three or more children. Reduced pay families will pay $30 for one child, $40 for two children, and $50 for three or more children. MC
Discussed the Strategic Plan date and time. Tabled to March school board meeting.
Moved, seconded, to approve nine open enrollments from Grand Forks Public Schools to Thompson Public School, one open enrollment from Emerado Public School to Thompson Public School; one open enrollment from Hatton Public School to Thompson Public School. MC
Moved, seconded, to approve annual school board election date of June 9, 2020 from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm at Thompson Community Center. MC
Next regular school board meeting will be Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 6:30 am in school library.

Deb Kolling, Timothy Myron, Nick West, Brian Willis, and Jon Wolfgram were in attendance establishing a quorum. Others present: John Maus, Superintendent; Jason Schwabe, Secondary Principal; Dave Wheeler, Elementary Principal; and LuAnn Kysilka, Business Manager.

Moved, seconded, to accept minutes of the February 11, 2020 regular meeting with correction. MC

Moved, seconded, to approve payment of the Schedule of Bills/PCard Statement presented in the amount of $553,475.88. MC

The Superintendent, Secondary Principal/AD and Elementary Principal reports were reviewed.

Board set the date for the Strategic Planning meeting to Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at 6:30 pm in the school library.
Moved, seconded, to approve five open enrollments from Grand Forks Public Schools to Thompson Public School, one open enrollment from Emerado Public School to Thompson Public School; one open enrolment from Central Valley Public School to Thompson Public School; one open enrollment from Grand Forks Public School to Thompson Public School for the 2021-2022 school year. Moved, seconded, to approve administrative salaries as follows: John Maus, superintendent $119,000; Jason Schwabe, secondary principal $105,000; Dave Wheeler, elementary principal $93,000; Scott Conrad, technology coordinator $67,500; Barb Jacobs, ESP coordinator $5,800; and new business manager $55,000. Moved, seconded, to approve $15,000 toward non-certified salaries/extra-curricular salaries as per schedule, and increase but drivers' pay per route from $35 to $36. MC
Strategic Planning meeting will be Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at 6:30 pm in the school library.
Next regular school board meeting will be Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at 7:00 pm in the school library.

MARCH 30, 2020
President Jon Wolfgram called special meeting of the Thompson Public School Board of Directors to order at 6:40 PM Monday, March 30, 2020. Deb Kolling, Timothy Myron, Nick West, Brian Willis, and Jon Wolfgram were in attendance establishing a quorum. Others present: John Maus, Superintendent and LuAnn Kysilka, Business Manager.
Purpose of meeting: update school board members on how things are going at the school.
John Maus shared with the board information on online learning plan as required by the state. Plan was submitted to the Department of Public Instruction on March 26, 2020 and was approved by DPI. Plan will now be forwarded to the governor's office for approval.
School's budget includes salaries/wages for all employees. Moved, seconded, to continue to pay all regular staff their normal hours until we can return to school, including non-certified staff and extra-curricular salaries. MC
Strategic Planning Meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday, April 14 was moved to Monday, June 15, 2020 before June school board meeting.
Next regular school board meeting will be Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at 6:30 pm via Zoom.
