ADVERTISEMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION BIDS
Sealed bids for Electrical Construction for University of North Dakota Primary Circuit #2 Upgrade, North Dakota State Board of Higher Education, D.B.A. University of North Dakota, will be received via electronic submission by UND Facilities.
The Scope of Work generally consists of furnishing all labor and materials for 15 kV underground construction and demolition of existing electrical utilities. Major material in the base bid includes 500 feet of 5" multicell duct bank (50 feet by HDD), one (1) 500 KVA pad-mounted distribution transformer, installing one (1) University furnished pad-mounted replacement switch; relocating one (1) 2500 KVA transformer and two (2) MV switches); approximately 1,500 feet of 500 kcmil aluminum 15 kV cables in duct with 500 feet of associated grounded conductor; 1,500 feet of 4/0 copper 15 kV cables in duct with 500 feet of associated grounded conductor, and 300' of 1/0 copper 15 kV cables with associated grounded conductor in 100 feet of underground 4" duct.
Method of duct bank and conduit installation shall be trench and backfill with horizontal directional drilling (HDD) techniques required under pavement.
There is no planned pre-bid meeting.
Bids will be stipulated sum - unit price form.
All bids must be submitted electronically. No hand delivered bids will be accepted.

Bids forms shall be submitted electronically to the email address listed above as a PDF file with the project number and bidders name as the file name. Bidders shall acknowledge bid addendum on the bid form submitted.
Contractor's license and bid security shall be submitted as a separate PDF file labeled as "Bid Bond Envelope - [Bidder's Name] - Primary Circuit #2 Upgrade".
Bids submitted electronically that do not contain two clearly marked PDF files, one for the bid form and one for the bid bond envelope, will not be opened.
Bidders are invited to attend the public reading of bids via a conference phone call at 2:00 pm on April 23rd.

Each bid shall be accompanied by the acceptable bidder's bond in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid and a copy of the Contractor License number and date of renewal certificate. Bid security shall be made payable to The North Dakota State Board of Higher Education. The bid security shall be forfeited if the bidder fails or refuses to enter into contract. Bidder agrees to furnish a Performance Bond after his/her proposal is accepted.
