Board members present: Sally Dockter, Diana Hoverson, Kathy Langowski, Dan Malott.
Absent: Jennifer Harrison
Also present: Matt Bakke, Melissa Hiltner & Karla Braaten.
Approved: Construction of the back parking lot. Diana Hoverson made a motion to approve, Dan Malott seconded the motion and it passed per roll call vote.
Approved: Bid from Dub Construction for $76,781.00. August 12, 2019 at Manvel School Board meeting all sealed bids were opened publicly. After opening of the sealed bids, the MPS Board requested that Mr. Bakke interview and compare two of the potential bids. Sally Dockter made a motion to approve, Dan Malott seconded the motion and it passed per roll call vote.
The comparison was as follows:
Dub Construction bid at $76,781.00: Plans to start ASAP, planned for frost boils and use fabric as needed, create a valley with a curving gutter system leading up to the road (push most of it south), bid includes building up the sidewalk in front of the preschool so it creates a higher grade for water flow, includes grate to be placed over the top of the drainage system for driving, parking lines included, placing, anchoring and painting curb stops. Dub Construction has extensive experience working with MPS, also a possible rebate of $4,000.00 for additional work to be completed at a later time.
MAK Construction bid at $63,800.00: Plans to start in about 2 ยฝ weeks, plans for frost boils and some fabric. If any additional fabric is needed we may see an additional cost of a couple of hundred dollars, create a valley with a curving gutter system leading up to the road (push most of it south). Parking lines not included, plans to stop concrete about 2-3 inches below sidewalk. No experience working with MPS.
Sally Dockter made a motion to adjourn and Dan Malott seconded the motion.
Respectfully submitted,
