The Fire Hall Theatre is presenting a Video on Demand performance of “Steel Magnolias,” beginning Tuesday, Dec. 1. Tickets are on sale now. Journalist Pamela Knudson reports on the effort undertaken by the cast to present the play in a safe manner, despite the pandemic.

“As with most theaters right now, this is our first filmed production,” Amy Driscoll, interim executive director of the Greater Grand Forks Community Theatre, said. “Although we believe it’s most important to keep everyone safe (during the pandemic), it’s still hard to know that the cast won’t ever get to share their art with a live audience. The exchange of energy between performers and audience is one of those things that makes live theater so special."

Community editor Sydney Mook delves into new developments at UND, which has new light columns up on University Avenue. Mook will report on what the columns represent and give an update on the status of the University Avenue project.

Also look for journalist Hannah Shirley's report on the first week of full-time distance learning in the East Grand Forks School District. She will look into the accommodations families are making.
