Features journalist Pamela Knudson reports on how the Empire Arts Center marquis that lit up DeMers Avenue in downtown Grand Forks has gone dark. It may be a metaphor for what’s happened to the arts community since the coronavirus pandemic extinguished many of the offerings that add excitement and vibrancy to the community’s quality of life.

Crime and courts reporter Hannah will sit in on a review hearing that has been scheduled for Samantha Jo Wilson, the woman accused of shooting and killing a teen in Northwood in January. At the hearing, a judge will review her evaluation from the state hospital.

Knudson also reports that the Grand Forks Public Library is re-starting its curbside pickup service on Monday, Aug. 10. The service was halted July 19 after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The library building remains closed to the public, as it has been since mid-March.
