Regional reporter Ann Bailey will deliver insights from the USDA's spring planting report, offering data into how many acres and,of which crop U.S. farmers seeded this spring. Like last year, some estimates won’t take into consideration planting of crops that were delayed because of wet conditions.

Journalist Pamela Knudson will report on the Grand Forks Senior Center and its offering of free, outdoor exercise classes at Lincoln Park. Social distancing and an exercise consent form are required.

Knudson also will write about Dr. Phoebe Stubblefield, a forensic anthropologist who taught at UND from 2003 to 2019. She was among those featured in a recent "CBS Sunday Morning" program for her work in the investigation of a possible burial site of unidentified victims of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The story of the loss of life and destruction of a prosperous neighborhood, dubbed “Black Wall Street,” was largely erased -- even those who grew up in Tulsa were unaware of it -- until recent events brought racial injustices to the forefront of the public consciousness.

Look for these stories and more in print and online on Tuesday and Wednesday.
