Snow is covering roads throughout northern North Dakota and creating dangerous driving conditions.
Although the precipitation in Grand Forks generally came in the form of rain and sleet Thursday (as of 7 p.m.), snow was falling to the west of Grand Forks as of late afternoon and early evening.
A Herald reporter driving west of Grand Forks late Thursday afternoon encountered cars in the ditch along Highway 2.
The National Weather Service is advising no travel on roads around Grand Forks, including Highway 2 to almost Devils Lake and Interstate 29 from Hillsboro to the Canada border.
The storm is expected to continue Friday.
