Jo Koy brings his comedy act to the Alerus Center on Sunday, the latest stop on his "Break the Mold World Tour."

Known for his infectious, explosive energy on stage, Koy received the "Stand-Up Comedian of the Year" award at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in July at Montreal. He draws inspiration from his family, specifically his son, resulting in humor that crosses boundaries.

Koy has produced two highly-rated comedy specials, titled "Don't Make Him Angry" and "Lights Out," for Comedy Central.

In 2017, he released his third comedy special, "Jo Koy: Live from Seattle," as a Netflix Original.

Performing for sellout crowds at comedy clubs and theaters across the country, Koy can also be heard weekly on the podcast, "The Adam Carolla Show".

Koy, who recently joined the Podcast One family as host of the weekly podcast, "The Koy Pond," has appeared in more than 100 episodes of "Chelsea Lately" as a regular roundtable guest.

He's also appeared on "The Joy Behar Show," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Last Call with Carson Daly," "Jamie Foxx: Laffapalooza" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno".

Sunday's show begins at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
