The Frost Fire Summer Theatre is presenting “Misti’s Happy Heart Benefit Concert” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, on stage at Frost Fire Park.

Attendees are invited to arrive early and enjoy a meal in the Howatt Hangar at Frost Fire Park.

All proceeds will go to the Frost Fire Summer Theatre Improvement Fund.

The show features the starring local actress and teacher, Misti Koop, of East Grand Forks, who will perform “some old favorites that will keep your toes tapping and let your heart smile,” according to the promotional material

The songs will include “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Rocky Top,” “Yakety Yak,” “Don’t It Make Your Brown Eyes Blue,” “Don’t Fence Me In,” the Armed Forces’ service songs, and much more.

Koop, a well-known and popular performer in area theater productions, said the concert will feature “some of my favorite songs to sing -- many I sang in Medora on the patio with the band from the (Medora) Musical in town each week.”

The program includes songs from genres such as country, jazz, easy listening, patriotic, show tunes and others, she said. “Something for everyone, for sure.”

Instrumental accompanists are Amy Jo Paukert, piano; Jeff Anvinson, guitar and bass; and Spencer Black, drums and bass, said Koop, who teaches K-12 music at Minto (N.D.) Public School.

At the Howatt Hangar, brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. It will include a variety of breakfast and dinner options. Dinner will be served from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

On Sunday, brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring a variety of breakfast and dinner options.

Raffle tickets will also be sold this weekend. Grand prize is a two-night stay at the Victorian house at Frost Fire Park; other prizes are a handcrafted custom-made fleece blanket with the Frost Fire logo and a $75 gift certificate for dining at the Howatt Hangar. Tickets are $25 each or $100 for a book of five. The winning ticket will be drawn during Sunday’s concert. The ticket-holder need not be present to win.
