The UND music department is hosting a Faculty Showcase concert on Monday, Oct. 5, in dedication to President Andrew Armacost on his inauguration. The private inauguration ceremony for the 13th president of UND takes place at 2 p.m. Monday.

The free concert, featuring internationally acclaimed music faculty members, will begin at 8 p.m. in the Chester Fritz Auditorium, with limited seating available. The concert will be livestreamed at https://arts-sciences.und.edu/.

The program will include performances by Nariaki Sugiara, piano -- “The Harp of Life'” Cory Driscoll, trumpet, and Brain Pfeifer, marimba -- “Meditation on the Frst Prelude by J.S. Bach;" Royce Blackburn, baritone, and Anne Marques Catarin, piano -- “Fight the Dragons (from ‘Big Fish’);” Simone Barbu, cello, and Sugiura, piano -- “Sonata for Cello and Piano in G Minor;” Lisa Bost-Sandberg, flute -- “Sonata ‘Appassionata’ in F-Sharp Minor, Op. 140;” Mei-Chuan Lin, piano -- “Dolly’s Dreaming and Awakening, Op. 202-4;” Joel Pugh, euphonium, and Sharon Pugh, piano -- “Allegro Spiritoso;” James Popejoy, vibraphone -- “Night and Day,” by Cole Porter; Scott Sandberg, alto saxophone, and Barbu, cello -- “Duet for Alto Saxophone and Cello, Op. 99;" and Anne Christopherson, voice and piano -- “My House (from Peter Pan),” by Leonard Bernstein, and “I Love a Piano,” by Irving Berlin.
