Grand Forks Master Chorale will offer a musical tour of the world of coffee at its Java and Delights concert Saturday, Feb. 22, at Popplers Music in the Grand Cities Mall.
The event, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will feature selected coffees by Bully Brew and sweet treats by Chef NarDane.
The Master Chorale, under the artistic direction of Dean Jilek, will perform international music, including “lively selections from Brazil, Venezuela and Cuba, and more mellow selections from Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States,” Jilek said.
Each year, the Grand Forks Master Chorale presents its February concert as a “themed pairing event,” he said. “And this year the theme will explore places where coffee is produced and enjoyed.”
Saturday’s program “is both diverse and challenging for the singers, which allows them to really expand their vocal range and musical knowledge,” Jilek said, adding that “the audience will enjoy music they have not heard before and perhaps have not expected.”
The performance space in Popplers Music store “provides the perfect, intimate venue to enjoy the beautiful voices of our Master Chorale,” said Susan Caraher, the organization’s executive director.
Tickets, $15, may be purchased in advance at Popplers Music or online at www.gfchorales.org/tickets.
At the door, admission is $20. Doors open at 7 p.m.
